Because this is what a tea cosy should look like. This is what every practical yet boring object should look like. This is what the entire category of practical yet boring gifts that neighbors, students, coworkers and the occasional niece depend on during the holidays should look like.
All of the MessyFish characters are handmade from knitted wool so each one is unique. And practical too, as these characters, "William" and "Pyrrhus" fit standard size teapots. But there is nothing standard about them.
